Q. I am trying to play the retail version of Battlefield 1942 but I’m getting blue textures all over the place! How do I fix this?
A. While Battlefield 1942 does not officially support KYRO cards you should be able to play the game by performing the following steps. Note that this game is not officially supported and as such no technical support will be given.

  • Open the registry location: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwarePowerVRKYROGame
    SettingsDDraw]

  • At the last key location create a string value called “DXTExposeCaps” and
    set it to “1”.
  • At the last key location create a string value called “NoRendersTillFlip”
    and set it to “1”.

WinXP users
Finding the game settings under WinXP is a little more involved than other OS.
When the driver is installed with WinXP, it is given a GUID under which we have to store all our settings - so first you need to find out the GUID.

  • Run REGEDIT.EXE
  • Look at this location:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPowerVRKYRO
    You’ll find a “LatestDrvReg” setting. For example:
    SystemCurrentControlSetControlVideo{64E9A970-0CC2-4C01-89EA-DDEEC3FACB50}

Non.
