Symbian va avoir un nouveau soft
PSION HAS decided to start working on software again. Not so long ago, the firm span-off its most of its software capabilities to create Symbian. Now the firm has decided to produce software for Symbian and it’s off to a cracking start. The first offering will be a tool to synchronise a Symbian phone with Microsoft Outlook.

The software, called Transend, is a GPRS aware email package. It synchronises with Outlook instantaneously over the airwaves. More than just email, it also supports the To Do list and Diary entries. Basically, it covers all of the major functions of Outlook on a Nokia 7650 or Sony-Ericsson P800.
The software works both ways. Create a diary entry on your 7650 and it will appear moments later in Outlook. Schedule a meeting in Outlook and there it is on your mobile. The firm will be showing off the software at the Symbian Exposium tomorrow at the ExCeL Centre in London.
This is one in the eye for Geoffrey Baird, he was Chief Operating Officer at Psion and moved to Commtag not so long ago. That firm has been working on similar software but doesn’t have a whacking great big share of Symbian to help it along.
Source : The Inquirer.
