La différence c’est que personne n’avait vraiment vu de plombier polonais. Alors que des sympathiques roumains qui arpentent tout l’internet à la recherche d’une porte ouverte, on est un paquet à en avoir des traces dans nos logs.

Ca parait difficile. Si chaque touche a un écran contrôlé séparément, bon courage pour écrire le code qui va faire tourner ça.
Si par contre les touches sont gérées un peu à la manière d’une image mappée (j’insiste sur le “un peu” : c’est juste pour donner une idée plus concrète), ça pourrait être faisable.

Ils ont plus qu’à nous dire que la techno sera libre et c’est le pied (mais la je rève).
Je m’imagine déjà dans WoW en train de changer de sort dans la barre d’action et pouf le petit logo change sur mon clavier
Par contre je me demande si on pourra toujours faire de blagues hilarantes à ses amis/collègues en inversant les touches « K » et « L » du clavier après les avoir déboîtées à coup de double-décimètre.
M’est d’avis que non. La vie sera moins fun.

Ok on peut se poser des questions sur le “comment ça marche ?”, “qu’est ce que ça consomme ?”, “combien ça coûte ?” (Coucou Jean-Pierre) … Mais le concept ? Le concept est fantastique ! C’est fou l’ergonomie que ça offre, les possibilités.

mais en fait non, je m’en fout: rien que pour le principe, je le veux.
ca, c’est une invention genial. Une vrai comme on avait pas vu depuis longtemps. Comme la molette sur les souris. Un truc qui a un vrai potentiel pour nous simplifier la vie!
Je suis sur que ca va marché, et je pense que je m’en prendrai un (si c’est pas trop cher quadn meme, sinon, j’attendrai un peu ^^)
Mais l’idée est vraiment geniale !

Ou pour racheter le brevet. Ou même en ressortir un vieux qui couvre celui ci (bah oui, les grosses boîtes posent des brevets à la pelle).
L’idée est sympa, j’acheterai surement (ou ferais acheter :P). Par contre, je vois pas trop comment ne pas exploser les led des lettres assez vites, sachant qu’elles ne changeront que très peu, et que j’ai pas envie qu’elles disparaîssent toutes les minutes…

Optimus Keyboard3 (Small)Nous vous parlions de ce clavier dans cette actualité, Artemy Mebedev, fondateur de la société et directeur du développement, a accordé deux interviews.
On y apprend que le clavier supportera l’interface USB 2.0, peut-être le Firewire, et qu’il nécessitera sûrement une source d’alimentation externe. Le logiciel permettant de gérer l’affichage du clavier devrait être open source. Le clavier serait fabriqué en aluminium.
La société est en pourparler avec plusieurs industriels et espère sortir son clavier dans approximativement un an.

Modern keyboards are created by programmers for programmers. I used to think of a keyboard as an input device for myself, not anyone else. But I don’t think that my layout should satisfy anyone but me. This is where Optimus comes to light.
How fare are you away from taking this keyboard to the masses? You wrote “patents pending”. Without being indiscreetly, are there any negotiations with resellers and / or producers?
Yes, we are negotiating with manufacturers to deliver our keyboard to the market in a year or so.
Apart from the fact that a pricing guess in this state of production is always very hard, what would you guess how much this keyboard would cost if it would be brought to masses world-wide?
$200 is extremely optimistic, $300 is just optimistic.
Apart from the mus-mouse, what are your plans for the future at art.lebedev?
For the last decade we’ve been know in Russia as website and interface designers. For the next decade my plan is to have the same position in industrial design. And after our successful partnership with Samsung on design of their new microwave oven I can say that we’re going slightly ahead of schedule :P)

AL: USB 2.0 for sure…FireWire - probably. Possibly it will have an external power supply. No need for Bluetooth.
PT: Any word on Windows, Mac OS, and Linux compatibility?
AL: I see no reason to make keyboard OS-dependant. As you can see from the current layout we have enough keys for Win or Mac control keys. As well, we made the keyboard several keys larger than usual QWERTY to comfortable fit all the Cyrillic letters (there are 33 of them).
PT: Will it be geared more to industry at first or consumers?
AL: We were keeping in mind typesetting professionals first. But without forgetting all kind of users, especially gamers. It will also be of great use to sound and movie pros.
PT: What kind of material is the Optimus made out of?
AL: The body is aluminum-wrapped.
PT: How long has the Optimus been in design?
AL: About a year.
PT: Any approximations on cost yet?
AL: I can hardly imagine it to be less than $200 to $300 (USD). Sounds like a lot for a keyboard, but most modern mobile phones cost about that.
